HOUSTON — Seattle first-round pick Aaron Curry suffered a right hip pointer in the fourth quarter against the Houston Texans on Sunday.

Coach Jim Mora said Curry will travel home with the team and undergo an MRI on Monday.

The linebacker was injured trying to make a tackle late in the Texans’ 34-7 victory. He was hit in the back by fellow linebacker David Hawthorne and lay on the field for a few minutes before being taken away on a cart.

“It’s a pain deal,” Mora said. “It didn’t look like he could walk off the field.”

The fourth overall pick in this year’s draft had three tackles Sunday. Curry said X-rays were negative and added that he was feeling better about 30 minutes after the game.

“I didn’t get any strength back in my (right) leg until after the ride to the X-ray machine,” Curry said. “After that, everything kind of calmed down.”
