BRIDGEPORT — The Washington State Patrol says a lightning-caused wildfire in northcentral Washington has quickly burned across an estimated 1,000 acres — or 11/2 square miles — and is threatening 12 residences.
On Wednesday night, State Patrol Chief John Batiste authorized state firefighting resources to help battle the Leahy Junction fire near Bridgeport in Douglas County.
The fire started Tuesday evening.
