EVERETT — The puck won’t drop for the first game of the season until next month, but Everett Silvertips fans will find something to cheer about today.

The Silvertips Team Store is emptying its inventory from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, offering fans deep discounts on Tips merchandise. Fans also will have the opportunity to rub elbows (grab those game-worn elbow pads) with former Silvertips players Riley Armstrong and Mitch Love. Team mascot Lincoln also will be on hand for pictures.

Heavily discounted items include $2 Kyle Beach bobbleheads, $120 authentic jerseys and 50 percent off Tips hats.

Besides the typical Tips merchandise, the store will be selling off equipment used by players.

That means you’ll be able to buy a Lukas Vartovnik game-worn jersey for $100. Pick up player nameplates, pulled directly off the backs of game-worn jerseys, for $5. Game-worn team socks, shoulder pads and elbow pads will be sold, as will Shayne Barrie’s goalie equipment.

Family and friends of Tips fans might want to take advantage of the sale to do some Christmas shopping in August, said Jon Rosen, broadcaster and spokesman for the team.

Armstrong, Love and Lincoln will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Due to the extra inventory on hand, customers should enter the team store at the main entrance to Comcast Arena.
