BRIER — A man who died in a crash east of Lynnwood on Wednesday was demonstrating how his car handled when he lost control of the vehicle in a curve, went into a ditch and hit a tree, officials said Thursday.
The 55-year-old Lynnwood man was trying to sell his Nissan sports car to the passenger, a man from Missoula, Mont.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s office on Friday identified the driver as David J. Troutman.
The two men were on a test drive on Cypress Way near 211th Place SW when the crash occurred, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.
The driver died at the scene.
The passenger was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with nonlife-threatening injuries.
