Bus driver cited for speeding in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. — TriMet has suspended a bus driver who was stopped by police for going 57 mph in a 45 mph zone.

Police say the 48-year-old driver was cited for speeding, careless driving, failure to maintain the lane, tailgating and driving a commercial vehicle without a valid license. His license had expired.

The Oregonian reports there were no passengers on the bus at the time Monday night, and the driver was returning to the garage.
