— The Seattle Rifle and Pistol Association is offering a Hunter Education Class at the association’s gun range at Evergreen Sportsman’s Park in Machias. The dates are May 10, 12, 17, 19 and 21. Times are 7-9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Preregistration is sc

— The second annual Lake Stevens Kokanee Derby is scheduled for May 21. First prize is $1,000. The entry fee is $20. Kids ages 14 and under fish for free.
