Store’s closing handled poorly

I was disappointed, but not surprised, to learn of the Everett Cost Cutter store closing. What did surprise me was the manner in which the corporation that owns this, and other stores, handled it. Store employees were handed letters at a Thursday morning meeting that informed them their careers with Cost Cutter were over.
No employees were offered transfers to any of the five other local stores, or any of the local Food Pavilion stores, owned by the same corporation. And worse, the manager was fired on the spot. No severance, no warning, just go home. These actions speak volumes about the ethics of this company. How sad!
