Saturday and Sunday are the last days this year to get free entrance to Mount Rainier or Olympic national parks. The fee-free days celebrate Veterans Day, which was Friday.
Fees also are waived at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, Lewis and Clark National Historical Park and Whitman Mission National Historic Site.
There are no entry fees for North Cascades National Park.
The National Park Service offers a number of free entry dates each year. The next opportunities are Martin Luther King Jr. weekend (Jan. 14-16) and National Park Week (April 21-29).
