Prison officer accused of Tacoma domestic violence

TACOMA — A state Department of Corrections spokesman says a Shelton prison officer accused of domestic violence in Tacoma won’t be allowed back at the Corrections Center until his case is resolved.

Spokesman Chad Lewis told The News Tribune the man has been Corrections Department employee for nearly seven years.

His wife asked for help Monday at a school where they had dropped off a child. The man drove off. The incident led to a lockdown at two Tacoma schools and at the prison in Shelton.

The man surrendered after a standoff and was jailed for investigation of domestic violence and eluding a police officer.
