Thanks for refreshing, positive outlook

Thank you for including the Viewpoints commentary by Sheriff John Lovick, “Every child needs a guide,” in the Sunday paper. I read the article before reading who wrote it (and ironically, took a break from volunteer work to read it over breakfast). Articles like this can make a profound difference in our community. It provides optimism to highlight the positive ways people choose to live their lives or view their lives.

It’s also refreshing to hear about people, especially community leaders, who live their values. I spend a good part of most of my days volunteering and appreciate reading about the importance of giving back and ways in which others give back. It’s a good reminder that the time I spend volunteering is time well spent, but more importantly, it may encourage others to find volunteer projects too.
