Citizen casualties only result of war

After 237 years of American politics we finally have our perfect storm. Look at the elements.

We bunched ourselves up into parties hoping to press our ideals through unity. We welcomed our wealthy into these parties hoping that they might use their purses to promote those ideals. We allowed ourselves to believe that, being founded in our ideals, these parties would be focused solely on the promotion of those ideals. Worst of all, we failed at every turn to acknowledge the growing tide of things that were happening that had nothing to do with those ideals at all and continued to support those parties anyway. Well, the tsunami is here.

The parties have become incredibly powerful by controlling the nominations to all elective offices. They have memorized the words to all of those ideals and spout them regularly to insure our loyalty to those powers. The Democratic Party and the Republican Party are the unelected rulers of our government. The real problem, though, is this.

There are two of them and they are locked in a battle to the death, each vowing to be the utmost rulers. Forget the ideals. Forget the party faithful. Forget the people, period. It’s a war and sequester is the beginning of massive civilian casualties for the glory of the One Supreme Party.

I’m not suggesting anarchy because that just transfers power from the richest to the most brutal. But we had better find a way to curb these mutts before they burn down the doghouse.
