Lovick brings needed morality

Published 3:42 pm Tuesday, June 18, 2013

A wonderful editorial in the Tuesday Herald on the importance of morality in government. Just a reminder that when our new Snohomish County Executive John Lovick, was a member of the Legislature, one of his most frequently stated reminders to his colleagues was from a quote by Hubert H. Humphrey: “It was once said that the moral test of government is how that government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; and those who are in the shadows of life, the sick, the needy and the handicapped.”

We are indeed very fortunate to have John on board as our county executive. A man of high moral character and great personal integrity to lead us during these difficult times. I expect that these traits will be a trademark of his leadership during his tenure — God Bless him in his new job.
