See wild boat races on Saturday
See boats go superfast at the Kenmore Hydroplane Cup on April 16. The fun begins at 10 a.m. at the boat ramp launch next to the 68th Avenue bridge. The races start at noon and continue to about 4 p.m. The Vintage Inboards will be pitted and will race in front of the North Lake Marina. The outboard hydroplane course will start at the Kenmore boat launch with the turnaround point at Squire’s Landing Park. Free.
Why wait until Saturday? Hydro Happy Hour is at the 192 Brewery Company, 7324 NE 175th St., Kenmore, is Friday night.
Seattle Symphony: Mikhail Tatarnikov conducts the orchestra at 7 p.m. Friday and 8 p.m. Saturday at Benaroya Hall as cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan performs Dvorak’s famed Cello Concerto, easily one of the greatest ever written for the instrument. The cellist was propelled onto the international scene in 2011 when, at the age of 22, he won the Cello First Prize and Gold Medal at the XIV International Tchaikovsky Competition.

Cannabis Comedy: The Green Show is an improv comedy show dedicated to herbology. Comedians from CSz Seattle bake up an assortment of hilarious, improvised moments, weeding out everything that isn’t pure enjoyment.

“Cutting Edge: Art Quilts of Washington” kicks off April 16 and runs through Aug. 21 at the Washington State History Museum, 1911 Pacific Ave., Tacoma.
The juried exhibit has historic quilts and contemporary patterns.
