Letter: Reelect trustworthy Wyman as Secretary of State

In the 2016 race for Washington Secretary of State, Washington voters will be best served by reelecting Kim Wyman.

Since being elected to office in 2012, Kim Wyman has brought forth a record of results. As secretary of state, Wyman has improved access and integrity to our state’s elections, preserved our state’s heritage, and made it easier to do business in Washington state. She has been involved with elections for 23 years and has overseen more than 100 successful elections. Wyman’s experience and commitment to representing all Washington voters merited her endorsements from over 50 county elections directors — Democrat and Republican — across this state. Furthermore, all living former secretaries of state endorsed Kim.

Tina Podlowdowski lacks the experience to hold this office. For example, Tina called for the presidential primary to be cancelled even though ballots were already mailed — an impractical and illegal proposal. Podlowdowski has shown a lack of understanding of Washington’s elections system and laws as well as an extensive streak of hyper-partisanship that is unbecoming of the office of Secretary of State.

In 2016, voters have a choice. They can vote for Kim Wyman, who embodies integrity and professionalism. They can vote for Kim Wyman with her record of results and broad appeal that traverses political boundaries. I encourage you to vote for Kim Wyman as Secretary of State.
