Our state’s ‘faithless electors’ let us down

Why did we even vote?

Washington voters chose Hillary Clinton for president. So why and how did we end up with four of our 12 votes not going to her? Remember these names, voters: Bret Chiafalo of Everett, Levi Guerra of Warden, Esther John of Seattle, and Bob Satiacum of Puyallup. Each of these people pledged to represent us, then chose instead to represent their own personal biased beliefs. Did they drink the right wing anti-Hillary Kool-Aid, did they even consider actually peeling back all the layers to discover there never was anything other than propaganda against her to keep her out of the White House? No, she wasn’t perfect, she openly admitted to mistakes. Not only did she get the rug pulled out from under her at the eleventh hour on more unfounded, nonexistent charges, but the “faithless electors” all chose to deny her the votes we the people bestowed on her.

I get it, they wanted Bernie, but I was discouraged from attending the caucus when I said I was a Hillary supporter. Had Bernie won the nomination I would have supported him, even though he called himself a Democrat solely to run for this office. The electors were commissioned to represent the voters; they represented their own biased views instead. I hope everyone remembers their names; if any of them ever again sign up to run for any office, that they will not represent anyone but themselves!

The electoral college needs to go!
