Pancakes, Mukilteo: The Mukilteo Kiwanis Club holds its annual pancake breakfast, 8 a.m. to noon March 11 at Olympic View Middle School, 2602 Mukilteo Speedway. There also will be entertainment and a raffle. Proceeds benefit scholarships. Cost is $7, $6 seniors, $30 families up to five.

Camano 101: Snohomish Conservation District and WSU Island County Extension are sponsoring a free open house, “Living on an Island: Camano 101,” 10 a.m.-1 p.m. March 11 at the Island County Multipurpose Center, 141 N East Camano Drive. Learn about Camano Island’s public beaches, parks and trails, shellfish, native plants, recycling and waste reduction, and more. Door prizes and refreshments. Norwegian Day: The Bothell Sons of Norway holds its annual Norwegian Heritage Day, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. March 11 at 23905 Bothell-Everett Highway, Bothell. Barneleikarringen, a dance group from Ballard, performs at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Craft demonstrations, Viking long house, genealogist, Norsk Buhund (a Nordic breed of dog) and fjord horses, and more. Book sale: The Friends of the Arlington Library hosts its two-day lobby book sale, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 14 and 15 at the Arlington Library, 135 N Washington Ave. This month’s theme is gardening. A piece of artwork, “Garden Girl,” donated by a local artist, is included in a door prize basket. All proceeds support the Arlington Library.

Musical jam: Enjoy an evening of old-time music with fiddle, guitar, banjo and more on March 17 (third Friday) at the Sisco Heights Community Club, 13527 99th Ave. NE, Arlington. Open house: The Stillaguamish Valley Genealogical Society Library has expanded and holds an open house to celebrate, 12-4 p.m. March 18 at 6111 188th Place NE, Arlington. WAYS TO HELP

Lighthouse docent: Become a docent at the Mukilteo Lighthouse and spend one day a month this spring and summer sharing history with visitors from around the globe. Dodgeball tourney: A dodgeball tournament for adults, to raise money for the Monroe Boys & Girls Club, is set for 10 a.m.-3 p.m. March 11 at the club, 261 Sky River Parkway. Fair auction: The annual Silvana Fair Board Auction starts at 5:30 p.m. March 11 at Viking Hall in Silvana. Like the fair, admission is free. Spaghetti dinner: A spaghetti luncheon fundraiser for Packs For Kids will be held 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. March 12 at Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave., Mukilteo. Suggested donation is $10, $5 for kids. Raffle and silent auction, too. Packs For Kids provides weekend food packs for students in the Mukilteo School District.

Project Linus: The next Project Linus event will be 12:30-2:30 p.m. March 14 (second Tuesday) at the Carl Gipson Senior Center of Everett, 3025 Lombard Ave. Volunteers make quilts and blankets to donate to Snohomish County kids who have experienced traumatic life events. Bring a nonperishable food donation to the game, and get a coupon good at the team store.

Fabric donations: The Clothing and Textile Advisors of Snohomish County in partnership with WSU Extension 4H Youth Development seek donations of fabric, notions, trims, patterns, yarn, needlework items and related books and magazines for an annual Fabric Sale, set for June 17. Proceeds support the Camp Stitch-a-Lot youth summer program, a scholarship for a student studying apparel design and development at Seattle Central College, and other community sewing programs. Work clothing, YWCA: The YWCA Working Women’s Wardrobe program is in need of personal care and feminine hygiene products. The items may be dropped off at 3301 Broadway, Everett. Donate clothing: Faith Lutheran Church, 6708 Cady Road in Everett, seeks help with its Community Meals program through donations of gently used or new cold-weather clothing, including boots, shoes, sweaters, coats, gloves and warm socks for both kids and adults. Children’s books and magazines also are needed. All donations appreciated.

Kid clothes, Lynnwood: Clothes For Kids, a Lynnwood nonprofit that provides wardrobes for low-income families, seeks volunteers to help sort clothes, stock shelves, assist shoppers and more. Kid clothes, Arlington: Arlington Kids’ Kloset, a north county nonprofit that provides school wardrobes for low-income students twice yearly, seeks volunteers to help in all aspects of the organization. Chores, errands: Volunteer Chore and Transportation Services, a program of Catholic Community Services, seeks volunteers to assist with household chores, yard care and transportation enabling elders, veterans and adults with disabilities to remain independent in their own homes. Aging Mastery: The Stillaguamish Senior Center offers a 10-week “Aging Mastery” class series starting March 22. The class, developed by the National Council on Aging, encourages small steps to improve overall well-being. Classes are 1:30-3 p.m. Wednesdays. Deadline to sign up is March 15. Enhance Fitness: Group Health Medicare members are invited to take a low-impact aerobics class for free. The class, for ages 50 and older, runs 8:45-9:45 a.m. weekdays in five-week sessions at the Carl Gipson Senior Center, 3025 Lombard Ave., Everett. No experience needed. Parkinson’s movement: The Edmonds Senior Center helps support a movement and exercise class along with Parkinson School For Change to help Parkinson’s patients get control of their movement again, 3-4:30 p.m. Tuesdays.
