MILL CREEK — Crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation expect to close a northbound lane of Highway 527 from 3 a.m. to noon Sunday to re-stripe the roadway between 173rd Street SE and 15th Avenue SE.

The new striping will remove a center turn lane in order to provide a wider and safer shoulder for pedestrians and bicyclists.

That will restrict drivers exiting the south driveway of Lil’ Sprout Nursery, at 17414 Bothell-Everett Highway, to right turns only onto southbound Highway 527. A two-direction center turn lane will remain for traffic accessing the garden center’s northern driveway.

The work relies on fair weather; the work was postponed from because of rain.
