This week’s featured new home is a four-bedroom, 2.5-bathrooms, two-story design located on a flat, one-acre lot in the Meridian Estates subdivision near Machias. It was built by Jacobsen Homes and is close to Centennial Trail and Lake Stevens.

The home has a forced air gas furnace, a central vacuum system and a three-car garage that’s deep enough to accommodate an extended workbench. The home also has an oversized, partially covered patio and a large back yard.

Entrance is gained through double doors that open to a foyer decked with Brazilian cherry, which extends throughout much of the main level. Open to the second level, the foyer includes an extended plant shelf, an upper-level window and an ornate chandelier.

The living room has a soaring ceiling, wood-wrapped windows in the lower and upper levels, and a natural gas fireplace trimmed with marble tile and framed by a formal wood surround and mantel.

Dining room highlights include a coffered ceiling, double crown molding, a chandelier and a butler’s pantry with maple-paneled cabinets and a granite slab countertop.

The kitchen includes a center island topped with black slab granite with brown hues, maple-paneled cabinets with cherry stain, hardwood flooring, an undermount stainless steel sink, stainless steel appliances and a pantry.

An informal eating area provides a buffer between the kitchen and family room.

In the family room is a gas fireplace that’s trimmed with cultured stone and flanked by two vertical windows. The room also has a 9-foot ceiling, radius corners and plush carpeting.

French doors open to a large home office with a window that overlooks the back yard. A powder room located at the end of the hall has a single vanity topped with slab granite.

A wrought iron railing accents stairs that ascend to the upper level. French doors open to a sizeable sleeping area in the master suite. A five-piece master bath has ceramic tile flooring, a double vanity topped with tile, a separate toilet area, a corner soaker tub encased in a tile deck and surround, and a freestanding shower with floor-to-ceiling tile and a clear glass enclosure.

A dual skylight and two corner windows provide natural light. Completing the suite is a walk-in wardrobe closet with multi-tiered, wire storage shelves.

One of the remaining three bedrooms has a walk-in wardrobe closet. The second full bath has a double vanity, a shower/tub combination with a fiberglass shell.

The bonus room has a vaulted ceiling and high-tech wiring.
