This week’s featured new construction is a two-bedroom, 1.75-bath one-level unit in the Point Edwards condominiums near downtown Edmonds.

Nestled on a bluff above Edmonds Marina, the condominiums are spread over 23 acres, with a resort-like feel, and some have sweeping views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains.

Privacy is created by luxury-class soundproofing and double-wall construction on adjoining walls. Gated underground parking, controlled access to the building via an intercom system, and wiring for high-speed Internet access are included to cover the security and technology bases.

Part of the home’s appeal comes outside its walls. Every Point Edwards homeowner becomes a member of Charter Club, the central community area.

The club includes a spacious living area with a large stone fireplace that’s perfect for hosting parties, wine tastings or family get-togethers.

Other common area amenities include a full kitchen, 34-seat theater with surround sound, a pool, hot tub, fitness room and even an area with computer stations and conference room for homeowners and guests.

A skylight provides the home’s foyer with natural light, and ceramic tile covers the floor. Paneled doors enclose a laundry area on the left that accommodates a full-size washer and dryer.

The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, Shaker-style paneled cabinets, a custom ceramic tile floor, tiled backsplashes, designer hardware, and under-cabinet lighting along with blown glass lighting above the bistro bar.

Steps away, an oversized great-room can be dressed up into formal living and dining rooms, or down to a sprawling, R&R-inducing family room. Amenities include a nine-foot ceiling, Craftsman-style millwork, gas fireplace, two large windows and a storefront door that opens to a balcony-style patio overlooking a garden courtyard.

The bedroom suite’s oversized sleeping area includes an entertainment alcove or sitting area. Bathroom appointments include a double vanity topped with slab granite, a ceramic tile floor, and a walk-in shower with ceramic tile surround.

The large extra bedroom, which includes a walk-in wardrobe closet, is served by a full bathroom.
