This week’s featured new home is a Craftsman-style four-bedroom, three- and one-half bath two-story in the Fobes Hill area near Snohomish, with mountain and valley views.

The property has a detached (lower level) offset three-car garage, and a breezeway between the house and garage with an exposed aggregate base and pine soffit. A bonus room or mother-in-law apartment attaches the home and garage at the upper level.

Stretching over more than 3,000 square feet of living space, the home is heated and cooled by an efficient heat pump, and has propane gas, city water, a septic system, wiring for surround sound, and an RV parking pad adjacent to the garage.

Custom amenities in the house include cherry cabinets and millwork throughout, red oak flooring, granite and ceramic tile countertops and surrounds, floor-to-ceiling cultured stone fireplace flanked by matching cherry bookcases with media storage, birch wainscoting, wrought iron railing, vaulted and nine-foot ceilings, theater lighting, oil-rubbed bronze fixtures, full-length exposed aggregate backyard patio with bulkhead, a butler’s pantry and a stainless steel appliance package.

The main floor is comprised of a foyer that soars to the second level, formal living and dining rooms, a kitchen, informal dining area, family room, powder room and utility room. Upstairs, a bedroom suite is the highlight, and it is augmented by three additional bedrooms served by a full bathroom, and the mother-in-law apartment, or entertainment-sized bonus room, which includes a third full bathroom.Kitchen features include custom ceramic tile backsplashes that ascend to cabinet level, indirect lighting, and stainless steel appliances.

The upstairs bedroom suite includes a generously-proportioned sleeping area brightened by three windows, a double closet with paneled sliders, and a large walk-in wardrobe closet. The suite’s five-piece bathroom is finished with 18-inch ceramic tile flooring, a walk-in shower with three distinct tiles covering the surround from floor-to-ceiling, a soaker tub encased in a tile surround, and a private toilet area.

Also worthy of special attention is the mother-in-law unit above the garage. This oversized area with soaring vaulted ceiling provides plenty of space for entertainment, with a kitchen area adjacent equipped with under-counter beverage center, two-compartment stainless steel sink, a breakfast bar and a storefront door that opens to a balcony-style deck that could be altered to include a staircase that would provide private entrance.
