A house in Mukilteo built with mobility-friendly design is this week’s featured resale. Built in 1998, the two-level home overlooks Puget Sound and has 5,623 square feet of living space, with three bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. It includes two attached garages that accommodate a total of four cars.

Mobility-savvy details include an elevator, dumbwaiter, zero-threshold showers, wide hallways, prewiring for medical equipment, and architectural handrails throughout.

The foyer has wide plank oak flooring, a vaulted ceiling and wood-wrapped skylights.

A short hall leads directly to a carpeted living room. The space includes a stacked stone wood-burning fireplace with a gas starter, a vaulted wood beam ceiling, and windows overlooking Naketa Beach. Within a built-in next to the fireplace is the dumbwaiter, used for bringing firewood from the home’s lower level.

Left of the living room, the kitchen features Danish modern design. Swedish-finish cabinetry includes toe kick drawers, elongated drawer pulls and a dining peninsula. An island is topped with granite and includes a cooktop and wheelchair seating. Additional conveniences include a pull-out pantry, wall oven and mini bar. The dishwasher is elevated for ease of use.

The dining room has oak flooring and glass doors to the deck, which is fitted with built-in seating and a glass railing.

Nearby, a large laundry room with amenities includes access to a garage and a half bath.

One of two bedroom suites has a tray ceiling, two closets, view windows and a door to the deck. Its bathroom has tile flooring, a wheel-in shower and a soaking tub. Its double vanity includes wheelchair access.

On the opposite side of the house, a hallway leads to a powder room, office and second bedroom suite.

A wooden vaulted ceiling is a highlight of this suite. Additional components include a walk-in closet with cabinetry and a makeup vanity. Its bathroom has a wheel-in shower, heated tile flooring and two separate toilet closets.

An exercise room has an ease-of-access entry system to a hot tub.

The elevator is positioned next to the stairway leading downstairs, where a second kitchen, family room, bedroom, bathroom and storage areas exist.

The yard is professionally landscaped and has a sprinkler system.

The home has a security system with video cameras, central vacuum, filtered water, a generator, high efficiency gas furnace and a heat pump that provides air conditioning.
