Thanks to a focus on downtown revitalization over the last decade, Bothell continues to develop into a flourishing city. “The redevelopment of our downtown area … has seen significant growth in the last several years,” City Manager Bob Stowe said. “We’ve spent over $100 million in public infrastructure projects, which has then leveraged more than $200 million in private capital. To date we have, just in the immediate downtown area, over 1,200 new residences that are in the pipeline.”
This growth includes mixed-use spaces that account for housing, office and retail. “We’ve got some great business perks, a nice collection of parks and open space amenities, a great school district,” Stowe said.
Situated minutes from the wine country of Woodinville and less than a half hour from Seattle, Bothell acts as an ideal hub for all kinds of entertainment pursuits. Whether it’s shopping, wine tasting or enjoying the outdoors, the town and its surrounding communities offer something for everyone.
Spend some time outside on the Sammamish River Trail, which joins to the Burke-Gilman Trail for miles of biking or hiking. Antiquing is a popular activity within the city. The Northshore Performing Arts Center brings 20 shows to the community each year. Finally, Bothell’s Fourth of July parade draws between 5,000 to 8,000 visitors to the city.
