Suspects remain jailed in separate stabbing deaths

EVERETT — Suspects remained jailed Monday in connection with two Snohomish County homicides in recent days.

A killing in Edmonds on Friday appears to be a drug deal gone bad, according to police reports.

The circumstances of a killing early Saturday in Mountlake Terrace weren’t immediately clear.

Codie Allen, 21, of Poulsbo, and Loresa Pilon, 28, of Everett, were being held in connection with the Edmonds killing.

Police found the stabbing victim, a man, 23, in a parking lot in the 22800 block of 100th Avenue W. Officers had been called about two men fighting.

Police quickly tracked down a car believed associated with the incident. The man inside was bloody and had minor injuries that required hospital treatment.

When questioned by Edmonds police, Allen reportedly said that he and Pilon had met the victim to arrange a drug deal, but had instead decided to steal his cash.

The man resisted. He pulled a knife and wound up being fatally stabbed with his own weapon, police were told.

The victim’s money reportedly was found on Pilon. The pair was booked for investigation of second-degree murder and first-degree robbery.

Meanwhile, a suicide watch was requested for Toby Sauceda, 20, jailed in the death of his roommate in Mountlake Terrace. He was being held for investigation of second-degree murder.

Others in the apartment when the stabbing occurred called police to say that they’d locked themselves in a room, and that the suspect had fled.

Sauceda reportedly called 911 himself and said he’d fatally stabbed his friend, according to police reports. He surrendered without incident.

Officers said the victim had a cut to his neck that was at least 3 inches long. He was dead when aid crews arrived.

Witnesses said they were asleep in the apartment and awoke to screaming. The suspect told police that he struggles with addiction to prescription medication and that somebody had taken his money.
