DARRINGTON — The Darrington Collaborative, a group focused on restoring habitat while creating local jobs, received a $20,000 grant from the state Department of Commerce.
The award was announced Thursday. The money is being used to hire a forester who can help coordinate projects for the collaborative, such as stream clean-up or tree thinning.
The group was formed in July. It includes foresters, loggers, local leaders and representatives from conservation and education groups. More information is available online at DarringtonCollaborative.org.
