‘47-8 is really really great, Boeing says

Boeing executives were talking up the prospects of 747-8 sales today in Tokyo, The Associated Press reports. http://news.moneycentral.msn.com/provider/providerarticle.asp?feed=AP&Date=20051208&ID=5337869

Key Quote: “Boeing sales executive Larry Dickenson said the company would be ‘very busy’ next year with orders for its new airplane, dubbed the 747-8.”

So far, Boeing’s sold only 18 of the 21st century jumbo jets — all cargo haulers. But the company maintains it will get orders for its “Intercontinental” passenger version sometime in early 2006.
