That’s no ordinary Boeing Co. 747 flying around Snohomish County.
In a few minutes, General Electric will land a 747 at Everett’s Paine Field. The plane comes equipped with a GEnx engine, which will power Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner jet. The 747 will fly over the area and then be on display at the Future of Flight Aviation Center and Boeing Tour.
The engine manufacturer recently announced making progress on the GEnx engine.
If you want a close up look at the GEnx engine, head out to the Future of Flight before 2 p.m. today. You’ll be able to wander inside the 747 and get a look at the 787’s engine. The jumbo jet will head back to California this afternoon.
