Through the third quarter of 2007, Airbus has retained its lead in commercial jet deliveries.
The European company bested Boeing, delivering just one jet more than its Chicago-based rival during the first nine months of the year.
Airbus updated its year-to-date tally this morning, noting 330 plane deliveries this year. Boeing updated its third quarter results last week.
Boeing needs to deliver 116 to 121 jets in the fourth quarter to meet its goal of 440 to 445 deliveries this year. Airbus will have to hand over 120 to 130 planes in the next three months to meet its goal of 450 to 460 planes.
In the race for commercial jet orders in 2007, Boeing still leads Airbus by 39 orders. Airbus lists 854 orders to Boeing’s 893.
