Airbus’s finance director has told the German media that the European company will return to profit in 2008.
The Toulouse, France-based plane maker suffered losses in 2006 and will remain unprofitable this year. Airbus’s A380 superjumbo jet program has been delayed nearly two years because of wiring problems. The company also stumbled in its launch of the A350 XWB.
Airbus is implementing its Power8 cost-cutting program, which includes cutting 10,000 jobs across Europe.
