Legislators from Southwest Washington are trying to give the timber industry tax breaks similar to the ones that lawmakers are pushing for aerospace, The Daily News in Longview reports. http://www.tdn.com/articles/2006/02/11/area_news/news15.txt Representatives from timber towns like Cathlamet, Longview and Aberdeen were among the handful voting last week against a bill that would extend the 2003 tax breaks given to aerospace manufacturers to research and design companies.

Nevertheless, he said he might have voted ‘yes’ if the timber industry was receiving similar consideration.”
