The South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce will honor three business people at an awards ceremony in October, including one of the chamber’s board members.
The annual awards are meant to single out outstanding business people with long-standing dedication to the county’s business climate.
Todd Brunner of Brunner Construction will receive the John M. Fluke Sr. Community Service Award, which has been awarded annually since 1970. Brunner, whose construction company is based in Lynnwood, serves as chairman of the board of directors for the chamber. He’s also active with several other business development organizations, including the Lynnwood Rotary.
“Todd is being recognized for his leadership in Snohomish County and ongoing dedication to serve the local community and drive economic development,” according to a statement from the chamber. “Todd believes in contributing time and energy to our local communities.”
Community Transit CEO Joyce Eleanor will be named the chamber’s corporate executive of the year for her innovative approach to public transit, according to the chamber’s statement. It goes on to call Eleanor “a visionary” with an “innate ability to create great teams that positively impact Snohomish County.”
John Wolcott, editor of the Snohomish County Business Journal, will be honored as the chamber’s small business execitive of the year for “his valiant and lasting commitment to Snohomish County through journalism.”
