Bank of the Cascades, one of the Northwest’s largest community banks, has expanded its Small Business Administration lending program into the Seattle market and hired Gwen Schaeffer as vice president and government loan specialist for the program. Bank of the Cascades and Lynnwood’s Prime Pacific have announced a planned merger.
Puget Sound area workers earn 26 percent more than U.S. average
The average worker in the Seattle-Bellevue-Everett area earned $29.33 per hour in May 2015, which is about 26 percent above the U.S. average of $23.23 per hour, according to a recent Bureau of Labor Statistics news release. Seattle metropolitan area was the highest paying area nationwide for Computer Programmers at $59.37 per hour.
Advocates for people with disabilities sought
Those interested in being an advocate for people with disabilities, are invited to consider applying for membership on the Governor’s Committee on Disability Issues and Employment before Aug. 31.
