1st Security Bank has hired Jennifer Fisher as a senior loan officer at its Bellevue Home Lending Office. The Eastside resident of 26 years joined the mortgage industry in 2001, when she served as a mortgage consultant, and later joined Cobalt Mortgage as a partner and senior mortgage consultant. Born and raised in Seattle, Fisher and her husband now reside in Woodinville.

PLC Insurance, a locally owned independent property and casualty insurance agency located in Lynnwood, has hired three new agents. James Tassani, Brandon Turner and Dan Wing have joined PLC since the first of the year and come from varied backgrounds. Once they complete PLC’s producer development program, they will specialize in providing risk management and insurance solutions for local businesses.

Group Health’s 25 medical centers across Washington state have received the highest recognition status, Level III, for its Patient Centered Medical Home model from the National Committee for Quality Assurance. This three-year recognition was awarded in December 2013 and is the second time Group Health has earned the honor.

Haggen and Unified Grocers announced that they have extended their supply partnership for an additional five years. Haggen is the largest independent grocery retailer in the Pacific Northwest and Unified is the largest wholesale grocery distributor in the western United States. Unified took over the original supply agreement when it acquired Seattle-based Associated Grocers in 2007.

Seventy-eight new businesses and more than 333 jobs were added in Mountlake Terrace in 2013, according to a report presented to the Mountlake Terrace City Council at its March 13 meeting. The City Council had prioritized economic development as a key strategy to provide jobs, goods, and services and increase the revenue base in support of community needs.

Dozens of Archbishop Murphy High School students will get their first taste of the business world as the school prepares to offer an introductory business course next fall. The course will be in conjunction with DECA, a program preparing emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.

The Skagit Regional Heart &Vascular Institute offers screenings to determine risk factors for developing cardiovascular disease and stroke on Monday mornings.
