Brian Skow has been named director of operations at Comcast Arena by Global Spectrum, which manages the arena. Skow will be responsible for the arena’s operations and engineering departments and will direct the arena’s green initiatives.
Scott Davis, a Farmers Insurance agent in Marysville, has been inducted into Farmers’ Topper Club and was invited to attend the 2009 annual meeting of Farmers’ top sales producers. Davis represents Farmers Insurance locally through Scott Davis Agency.

Cascade Bank has opened the doors of its newest branch in Edmonds. The new branch, at 437 Fifth Ave. S., is the 22nd for the Everett-based bank, which has branches in Snohomish, King and Island counties. Vern Woods, a bank vice president, will be branch manager. Tim Schell will serve as assistant manager, Lannet Samson will be senior financial service representative and Tomas Darrah, Peter Farnsworth, Aliena Smith and Kathryn Bledsoe are financial services representatives.
Good deeds
Haggen Food &Pharmacy customers raised $3,134 for Snohomish County schools during the last five months of 2008 through the grocer’s School Bucks program. In the program, Haggen customers designate a Snohomish County school to receive money raised from their purchase of certain products. The program has donated more than $860,000 to Washington and Oregon schools since its launch in 1998.
Keller Williams Realty in Marysville plans its first RED Day Event on Thursday. The group will donate spring-cleaning services at Legion Park in Arlington and at Twin Cedars Park and LaTierra Estates in Marysville. Awards
Little Cedars Elementary School in Snohomish has been awarded the 2009 Learning By Design Citation of Excellence for outstanding educational facility design. The school was designed by NAC|Architecture. A jury of architects and educational facility planners awarded honors to those projects exhibiting exceptional design qualities.
