Stephanie Greenall was recently chosen as president-elect of the Washington State Chiropractic Association Board of Directors, the only statewide association that represents the chiropractic profession in the state. Greenall operates Lifeplus Health Centers in Lynnwood. She is a graduate of Western States Chiropractic College and has been in practice for 22 years.
Ryan Larsen is Stanwood’s new community and economic development director. Prior to joining the city of Stanwood, Larsen served as the planning director for the city of Anacortes and served on the Arlington City Council. He also worked as a senior planner for Snohomish County’s planning and development services. Larsen grew up in the Stanwood area. He is the brother of U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen, D-Wash.
Cindy Curtright will lead a team of about seven Wells Fargo employees as store manager for the new Wells Fargo at 16330 Bothell-Everett Highway, Suite 101, in Mill Creek. The team will provide a complete range of financial services. It is one of seven new Wells Fargo Puget Sound locations scheduled to open by first quarter 2014.
Garrett Watt, an ironworker from Bothell, has been selected as a Top 10 finalist in the nationwide Cintas &Carhartt Cold Crew Contest. Online voting takes place at www.cintas.com/carharttcoldcrew through March 31. The finalist who receives the most votes wins a trip to the 2014 CMA Music Festival in Nashville in June. Cintas is a rental work wear company.

Josh Martin, a grant writer with Coupeville consulting firm Hertlein Grant Writing, has earned a nationally recognized credential in the grants field. Martin is now one of 400 Grant Professionals Certified in the country. Both Martin and Robin Hertlein at Hertlein Grant Writing are now GPCs, two of only seven certified grant writers in the state.
University Mechanical Contractors, a full-service mechanical contracting firm based in Mukilteo, was awarded a first place national award for safety excellence in the Specialty Division: 300,001-500,000 Work Hours category by the Associated General Contractors of America. The company was recognized for its safety programs, development of safety solutions and leadership in organizations to promote safety in the construction industry.
Good deeds
Lexus of Seattle has performed maintenance and repairs on the Edmonds Lutheran Church volunteer van. The vehicle keeps the church’s Annie’s Community Kitchen project in operation. The van is vital to the charity as it goes out into the community daily to gather food donations to keep the program running.
The South Everett-Mukilteo Rotary Club recently launched and completed an online crowdfunding campaign to raise money for local non-profit Hand in Hand, an Everett-based nonprofit that provides a safe place for children that have been taken from their homes due to neglect, crime or abuse. The club also chose Hand in Hand as it’s Fund-A-Need for its annual auction.
The MCE Parent Group has received the largest donation to date, $2,313, from IGA grocery store in Granite Falls as part of the Hometown Heroes Community Give Back Program. The IGA Market has been participating in the Give Back Program since 2011. The money is designated for the children of Monte Cristo Elementary.
The Rotary Club of Lynnwood recently presented a check for $1,000 to the Brigadoon Service Dogs program, which provides service dogs to veterans who have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury and other complex physical disorders. This is the second year the Rotary Club of Lynnwood has supported Brigadoon.

A new tap house is opening in Monroe. Harry’s on Tye at 14286 169th Drive SE will offer more than 30 craft beers. The soft opening from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday will feature beer specials and free pizza. Although the establishment does not sell food, customers are encouraged to bring their own or order delivery.

More than 350 community members gathered at Snohomish High School to raise money for district students and to gain awareness about the programs the Snohomish Education Foundation provides to support student success. Through the use of web conferencing software, attendees had the choice of physical attendance or virtual experience. The event raised a record $56,000.
Housing Hope hosted its annual East County Community of Hope Dinner March 13 at The Golf Club at Echo Falls in Snohomish. The event raised a record $42,000 after event expenses. Event sponsors off-set event costs so that all money raised at the event directly supports homeless families in East County.
Verizon Wireless announced that it is adding 47 full-time retail positions in the Seattle metropolitan area, including Seattle, Tacoma, Everett, Redmond, Lakewood, Puyallup and Redmond. The U.S. Small Business Administration announced that it will award grants to state and local economic development agencies, business development centers, colleges and universities to support programs for innovative, technology-driven small businesses under SBA’s Federal and State Technology partnership program.
