The Boeing Co. increased its Washington workforce by 741 people last month, according to the company’s Web site.
From the end of last year, Boeing has added 1,337 workers here in the state as it ramps up jet production at both its Renton and Everett locations. As of March 31, Boeing employed 74,954 people in the state.
Although the majority of Boeing workers in Washington are in the company’s commercial airplanes division, some work in defense.
Boeing’s commercial airplanes division added 1,005 workers in March. Besides increasing the workforce here, Boeing has been adding workers in South Carolina, where it is preparing to open its second 787 final assembly line this year.
Since the end of last December, Boeing has boosted its commercial airplanes workforce by more than 2,500 people.
