The Boeing Co. logged in another 65 orders for commercial aircraft this week, as noted on its Web site. Boeing’s new orders included requests for 1 787, 49 737s, 2 747s and 13 777s. That brings the company’s year-to-date order tally to 688.
The company also announced that AeroSvit-Ukrainian Airlines has ordered seven 737s, a request previously attributed to an undisclosed customer on Boeing’s orders and deliveries site. The airline also secured purchase rights to an additional seven 737s.
This is the first order the Kiev-based carrier has placed directly with Boeing since it was founded in 1994. AeroSvit plans to gradually replace its fleet of 13 classic 737s with Boeing’s Renton-built Next Generation 737s, as noted in a Boeing press release.
