The Boeing Co. and Airbus could get some bad news in time for the holidays.
Bloomberg has two sobering pieces this morning.
China is telling its airlines to cancel or defer jet orders for next year, which could affect both Boeing and Airbus. The government already is bailing out airlines due to a steep downturn in travel in the country.
Here’s the Wall Street Journal report.
China Southern, the nation’s largest airline by fleet size, has 81 aircraft on order with Boeing, including 65 737s, 10 787s and 6 777s.
EADS, the parent company of Airbus, acknowledges that more cancellations are coming in this piece.
