During Boeing’s 2009 results conference call this morning, Jim McNerney, company chief executive, said he expects to hold 737 jet production steady in 2010.
Analysts have questioned whether Boeing would slow production rates for its popular Renton-built jet. But Boeing’s McNerney said the single-aisle aircraft program is sold out through 2011.
McNerney also said he anticipates the first flight of the company’s 747-8 in the “very near future.” Boeing has been conducting the final tests leading up to the aircraft’s maiden flight.
Additionally, McNerney noted that Boeing approved 271 aircraft delivery deferrals last year, with a decreasing amount of requests in the fourth quarter.
