The Boeing Co. said Wednesday that its fourth-quarter profits more than doubled in 2005.
The company reported a profit of $460 million for the last three months of the year, up 147 percent from the $186 million it netted in the same period of 2004. On a per-share basis, profits grew to 60 cents, up from 23 cents.
For the year, Boeing reported a profit of almost $2.6 billion, a 37 percent increase over 2004’s profit of almost $1.9 billion. Earnings per share grew to $3.20, up from $2.30.
