Boeing officials look ahead

On Sunday, Boeing executives smiled and cheered as the Dreamliner poked its nose into the Everett factory. They seemed to be savoring the moment … albeit very briefly.

Both Boeing’s Jim McNerney and Scott Carson talked about the next step to delivering the first Dreamliner in May 2008 to All Nippon Airways.

Carson noted that the first aircraft still needs wiring and systems installed before it can make its first flight later this year.

But, “It will deliver on time,” Carson said.

McNerney praised but challenged 787 employees.

“Because of all this team has accomplished so far, my confidence in you, my expectations of you, remain high,” McNerney said.
