SEATAC — A Boeing 777 has landed safely at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, after reporting flames shot out of one of its engines.
Airport spokesman Perry Cooper says the Asiana Airlines Flight 271, headed to Seoul, turned around soon after takeoff Wednesday afternoon. Witnesses on the ground reported hearing explosions.
Cooper says it’s unclear what might have caused the flames. The plane dumped fuel over Puget Sound before landing.
