Following a six-month delay in its 787 program, Boeing announced a shake-up in Dreamliner management Tuesday.
Boeing replaced the leader of its 787 program, Mike Bair, with Pat Shanahan, who has served as a vice president on Boeing’s defense side. Bair moves into a marketing vice president position.
“Pat’s experience and proven record managing demanding and complex programs will allow him to build on the 787 team’s success as we tackle the challenges we face in bringing our new production system fully on line,” said Scott Carson, president of Commercial Airplanes in a press release. “He knows how to deliver results, understands our customers and their requirements, and has the leadership skills to get the job done.
