The Boeing Co. ended the first quarter with negative jet orders but handed over 121 aircraft , the company said Thursday.
Boeing has booked 28 new orders in the first three months but has received 32 cancellations, bringing its net total to negative four. Boeing trails its rival Airbus, which ended the first quarter with 8 net orders, according to a Wall Street Journal report.
The Chicago-based Boeing booked 289 orders in the first quarter of 2008.
The aerospace giant still is on track to meet its 2009 delivery goal of 480 to 485 jets this year. And Boeing outpaced its first quarter deliveries of 115 jets of 2008.
Boeing delivered 91 of its 737s, four 747s, three 767s and 23 777s during the first three months of 2009.
