Chambers of commerce to hold mixer

Members of the Snohomish, Lake Stevens, Monroe and Sky Valley chambers are invited to an after-hours Meet and Greet Mixer from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 14 at 801 First St. in downtown Snohomish. United Way to back projects to fight poverty

United Way of Snohomish County is accepting proposals for capacity-building projects from human service nonprofits working to address intergenerational poverty. Potential applicants should attend one of two information sessions from 8:30 to 10 a.m. or 2:30 to 4 p.m. Oct. 13 in the organization’s Board Room, 3120 McDougall Ave., Suite 200, Everett. Spa upgrades its pedicure procedure

Locally owned and operated Nails &Spa By Vi in Bothell has announced that they have completed upgrades to the traditional pedicure spa. The upgrades will provide customers with a safer pedicure using the latest spa technology invented by Texas-based LURACO Technologies, Inc. The new systems use pipeless, magnetic technology that greatly reduces bacteria-growing environments.

Completion of highway project celebrated

City of Bothell and Country Village joined forces to celebrate the completion of the Bothell-Everett Highway construction project with a ribbon cutting on Oct. 3. The project widened the road from 240th north to 228th. It also installed a new traffic signal at Country Village Way, providing easier access to and from the shopping village.
