New chair elected for Group Health physicians board
Dr. Barbara Detering, an award-winning family physician at Group Health for more than two decades, has been elected to serve as chair of the Group Health Physicians Board of Directors. Detering has been a physician at Group Health since 1991 when she joined Group Health’s Family Medicine Residency. She currently practices at the Capitol Hill campus.
New operations manager for Ebey’s Landing
Roy Zipp has been selected as the new operations manager for Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve, located on Whidbey Island. He replaces Craig Holmquist, who retired in December. Zipp is currently an environmental protection specialist at North Cascades National Park Service Complex, where he manages the planning, compliance and lands program and co-chairs the Wilderness Team
Tulalip Cabela’s to host Outdoor Adventure Day
Cabela’s will host Outdoor Adventure Day at all its store locations, including Tulalip, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. The event is in partnership with the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance Foundation and the Trailblazer Adventure Program. There will be a variety of fun interactive outdoor activities available for all ages throughout the day.
Diamond Knot releases new brews
Diamond Knot Brewing is celebrating the start of summer with some new brews at its family of brew pubs. These include Rose Knot Red Ale, Belgian Pale Ale, Old Spike and Imperial Chocolate Vanilla Stout. The Mukilteo-based brewery will also participate in the 10th Annual Washington Brewer’s Festival at Marymoor Park on Father’s Day Weekend.
