Perfectly Knotty in Granite Falls to hold a Knit-In

In honor of World Wide Knit in Public Day, Perfectly Knotty in Granite Falls is hosting a public Knit-In event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 13. All fiber crafters are invited to bring their projects and join in. The event is on the sidewalk and on the covered porch of the shop. Bothell’s Cornerstone Roofing honored

Cornerstone Roofing in Bothell was recently honored with CertainTeed Corporation’s Diamond Level Customer Track Record Award. The accolade recognizes roofing contractors who are focused on superior standards of customer service. Contractors must have a minimum of 48 customer surveys submitted with a collective survey rating of 4.0 or higher on a 5.0 scale to earn this status.

State retail sales tax increases in year over year in 2014

Taxable retail sales statewide increased 6.6 percent to $124.85 billion during calendar year 2014 compared to 2013, according to the Washington State Department of Revenue. Snohomish County retail sales were $11.7 billion, a 4.7 percent increase year over year. Retail trade, a subset of all sales that excludes non-retail sectors such as construction and services, rose 4.8 percent to $56.31 billion statewide. In Snohomish County, retail trade experienced a 6.2 percent rise totaling $6.39 billion.
