State Revenue agency to host free tax workshop

On-the-job fatalities up in Washington year over year
The latest Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries news release for Washington is now available from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics here. Of note in the report, fatal work injuries totaled 86 in 2014 for Washington, up 30 from the previous year. Fatal occupational injuries in the state have ranged from a high of 128 in 1996 to a low of 56 in 2013.
First Financial reports net income is up
First Financial Northwest, the holding company for Renton-headquartered First Financial Northwest Bank, reported net income for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, of $2.1 million, or $0.16 per diluted share, compared to net income of $2.9 million, or $0.20 per diluted share, for the fourth quarter in 2014. First Financial Northwest Bank has a branch in Mill Creek.
