Report: Visitors spent nearly a $1 billion last year in Snohomish County
In 2014, Snohomish County ranked fourth out of the 39 counties in Washington state for visitor spending. This was according to a Dean Runyan Associates’ report prepared for the Washington Tourism Alliance. Visitors spent a total of $992.9 million in Snohomish County during 2014 — a year-over-year increase of 5.7 percent.
Arlington, Mukilteo companies to present at CleanTech Alliance
CleanTech Alliance has named the 24 companies selected to present at the CleanTech Showcase 2015 — a one-day clean technology event for investors and networking. The event is on June 22 at Bell Harbor International Conference Center in Seattle. The selected companies include Arlington-headquartered Outback Power and UniEnergy Technologies in Mukilteo. Presenting companies will each receive 20 minutes to spotlight their latest clean technology innovations to more than 300 industry leaders, investors and policymakers.
Safeco foundation gives $15,000 to Kids Cafe
The Safeco Insurance Foundation awarded the Boys &Girls Clubs of Snohomish County a $15,000 grant to support the Kids Cafe program. Kids Cafe provides healthy after school snacks as well as breakfast and dinner in Clubs serving high needs communities. This nourishes children’s bodies so they have the energy to participate in academic, recreational and social programs.
Sponsors sought for Navy summer events
Area businesses are invited to partner with Navy Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department Everett to sponsor two summer events at Naval Station Everett and at Jim Creek Naval Recreation Area. Free Family Fun Day at Jim Creek Recreation Area is June 13. Party in the Plaza, an annual base picnic and kids’ fun run, is Aug. 13. Contact Jennifer J.
