The Boeing Co. is closing its jet repair station in Melbourne, Ark., a move that will affect 103 workers. Boeing said the decision came after a key contract supporting the U.S. Navy’s E-6 program expired. Boeing repaired doors and flight controls at the facility. The workers will be offered transfers within Boeing or help finding other jobs.
CityBank to pay 20-cent dividend
Lynnwood-based CityBank said Thursday it will pay a 20-cent dividend March 24 to shareholders of record as of March 10. The size of the dividend is the same as the previous quarter.
Intermec designs new smart forklift
Everett-based Intermec Inc. has unveiled what it calls the “forklift of the future” at a conference in Texas. Developed with help from Oregon-based Cascade Corp., the forklift has a dashboard computer and radio identification technology. Among other things, it can quickly locate warehoused goods with wireless tags and take photos of them for documentation.
Check dental bills at Premera site
Mountlake Terrace-based Premera Blue Cross has introduced two online tools to help members compare dentists’ charges and performance. A new dental cost estimator allows Premera subscribers to compare the prices they pay for dental services to a typical range of prices in the same ZIP code. A separate rating tool ranks dentists on 155 different indicators. Both tools can be found at www.premera.com.
