Young professionals to meet at Diamond Knot Brewery

The Snohomish County Young Professionals Network will meet at 5 p.m., Thursday, July 7 at Diamond Knot Brewery, 4602 Chennault Beach Road, Suite B2, Mukilteo.

Diamond Knot’s original alehouse is in a building that has housed a pub for over 20 years. Before the building became a pub, it was a bus garage used by the local transit company and the main roll-up door can still be seen just inside the front door. The original thick, sturdy wooden beams and open plank ceiling, giving the building a wharf-like atmosphere that fits perfectly with the our nautical feel and the waterfront on which we are located.

Community Transit to host hearing on 2012 changes

The public will get its chance to share comments about three 2012 system change alternatives with the Community Transit Board of Directors during a public hearing starting at 5 p.m., Thursday, July 7 at the Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave., Mukilteo. Rosehill is accessible by Community Transit routes 113, 190, 417, 880 and Everett Transit route 18.

The hearing will last until each person present has had an opportunity to comment.

The public hearing will take place following a regular board of directors meeting, which will begin at 4 p.m. The meeting and hearing were moved from the usual board meeting location, which has space for only about 40 people.

Community Transit plans to cut 80,000 hours of service in February 2012, or about 20 percent. Earlier this month, Community Transit unveiled three service alternatives to the public and began to collect input.

No decisions will be made immediately following the public hearing. The board is scheduled to decide on the cuts in August or September. Full details about each of the three alternatives are available at www.communitytransit.org/2012changes.
